Made by Japanese blade manufacturer, Michihamono, in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture these gouges are forged from a lamination of HSS edge backed with a softer steel - giving them high quality edge retention which are able to be sharpened as required.
Useful for softer lines, rounded end points, and even line widths U shaped blades can also be used to clear areas with less remaining chatter. The gouges are perfect for woodblock, linoprint, and 3D wood carving.
The unique construction of wooden handle with brass ferrule allows for the shaft to be removed (with some tools) to allow for adjustment of length in case of wear or breakage.
The u-gouges are availalbe in the following widths: 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, and 6mm.
These gouges are also available in v-gouge and shallow u-gouges to allow you to mix and match your own set of tools perfect for your practice.
