Made by Japanese blade manufacturer, Michihamono, in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture these V shaped gouges are forged from a lamination of HSS edge backed with a softer steel - giving them high quality edge retention which are able to be sharpened as required.
The V shaped blade can be used to make varying line widths and are the perfect tools to cut sharp corners and edges. The gouges are perfect for woodblock, linoprint, and 3D wood carving.
The unique construction of wooden handle with brass ferrule allows for the shaft to be removed (with some tools) to allow for adjustment of length in case of wear or breakage.
These gouges are available in the following widths: 1.5mm, 3mm, 4.5mm, and 6mm.
These gouges are also available in u-gouge, and shallow u-gouges to allow you to mix and match your own set of tools perfect for your practice.
